Research (2)
Research in the UniLab at Sofia University exploits internationally recognized teams in planning, development and performance of scientific work. The UniLab unifies investigators from Bulgaria - Sofia University, Biological Faculty; National Bank fro Industraial Microorganisms and Cell Cultures and Bulgarian Academy of Science: Institute of Organic Chemistry and Institute of Microbiology. As canvassing partners, the UniLab is supported by the following partners in result of joint interuniversity actions of Socrates/Erasmus programme:
- University of Ghent (BE)
- University of Perugia(IT)
- University of Bologna (IT)
- University of Nantes (FR)
- University of Sevilla (ES)
- University of Goettingen (DE)
This broad collaboration provides not only new directions for research development, but also for designing new ways for realization of the benefits of the intersection of microbiology with bioinformatics and nanotechnology.
The UniLab research programme is structured around three major items as follows:
- stress tolerance of microorganisms to industrials and environmental stress
- bioinformatics investigations of ascomycetous yeasts
- stress tolerance of microorganisms to industrials and environmental stress
- yeast: new tool for development of nanotechnologies.
